St Pancras station is, without a doubt, an architectural beauty.

September 30th, 2013, 7am

This grand station was restored several years ago, resulting in a place worth visiting even if you’re not actually travelling anywhere from it. It certainly deserves to be a tourist destination in its own right.

Where the Olympic Rings hung during 2012 we now have a public artwork called “Cloud: Meteoros” by Studio Orta. Apparently it’s “designed to unite people inside the station with the world outside”, but being a bit of a Philistine when it comes to art I’m not really qualified to comment on that :-)

But whether you like this sort of art or not, get along to St Pancras when you get a chance, to take in the grandeur of this engineering and architectural masterpiece. And perhaps have a go on one of the several pianos that are dotted around the station for anyone to play.
