Cider house.

March 30th, 2013, 5pm

It was 17.8°C with few clouds. The wind was light.

You can’t see it in this picture, but this bottle had a little mark declaring that it hailed from case 2 of 22. So, this is super small-batch stuff; basically a side project, an experiment. It’s not listed on the menu at Upcider—you have to ask for it. $15 for this 20-oz. bottle, perfect for splitting. It’s worth tracking down and trying, even (or especially) if you don’t like cider: there truly some strange flavors waiting here. As K said: “It tastes just like juice… except… with every single molecule of sugar sucked out and transformed into alcohol.” There was no sweetness at all; just a deep dryness. A savory flatness!?

Héctor, Paul and Paul said thanks.
