I've always been attracted to ladybird beetles, and them to me. So happy to catch this moment.

It was a very happy accident. I just received a telephoto lens for this mirrorless camera — it’s a 55–210mm, but I don’t usually get into the fussy stuff. I just found I wanted to reach out farther with the camera. But I was down at a nature area, turned around and saw this ladybird several feet away walking across the stalk. I zoomed in and snapped a few shots, and got to see it extend its wings. Such a glorious thing that evolution should produce a beetle we find so gorgeous that’s also so common.

Shu, Sanna and Christine said thanks.
