There is always a few moments of confusion when you wake up in a new city.

August 26th, 2013, 10am

It was 39°C. There was moderate breeze.

I did a quick work trip to Dubai, and by quick I mean I was on the ground for a total of 30 hours. It was weird arriving at 3am with the temperature at 36 C (97 F), at 80% humidity. That kind of heat takes your breath away.

It was obviously dark on the taxi ride to the hotel, so waking up the next morning and discovering a brand new city out of the window is a bit surreal.

Geography still matters, and our bodies feel it when we’re somewhere different. I’m convinced of it.

Hikmet and David Wade said thanks.
