I work inside beautiful boxes.

July 17th, 2013, 10am

It was 31.7°C with scattered clouds. The breeze was light.

My parents took me to Washington DC the summer I turned 12, and the Library of Congress enchanted me. I can’t say I made a vow to work there one day, but that’s how it turned out. 17 years and counting. Don’t get too romantic though … it’s a bureaucracy like any other. But when goings get rough I take a stroll inside or outside the Jefferson Building, and the troubles get lost among the boxes within boxes.

Craig, David Wade and Karen said thanks.
