Beauty and the Beach ...

May 4th, 2014, 10am

It was 31°C with few clouds. The breeze was light.

This extended weekend beach trip brought back all kinds of fond childhood memories of how a beach vacation is supposed to be. I have stayed away from beaches for being over crowded, dirty, or have become corporate machines.

This beach at Hoi An was just fantastic: clean, sand (not pebbles) and few people trying to sell stuff, but incredibly polite .. like “I know you just want to relax, so, just remember my name, I am Anna, and I will come back in an hour and you can look, and if you don’t like, you can say ‘no’”.

The back of the beach is lined with ‘live seafood’ restaurants and you can select from posh to crab shag. I selected the latter and for 2 lunches we got the tummies of 3 people full for 13$. With fresh shrimp and crap and fish.

Surely will come back.
