Hide Your Fluffy Bears

October 27th, 2013, 8pm

It was 11.1°C with few clouds. The wind was calm.

Have you ever wondered what happened to your toys from when you were small?

I didn’t until I saw a truck filled with stuffed animals driving down 34th Street this weekend. Not many people seemed to notice, to the point where I thought maybe I was the only one who could see it—a ghost truck taking retired stuffed bears and pigs and cows and etc. for what? A joy ride? To a retirement home? Upstate vacay? Or something else entirely?

Depending on your point of view, the bobbing heads, the ears waving in the wind, the mouths open (to laugh? to scream?), were either sinister or hilarious.

To paraphrase Antoine Dodson: Hide yo bears, hide yo lambs, hide yo moo cows cause they taking errybody up in here.

David Wade, Peter, Adrian and Allan said thanks.
