Man Mo Temple in Taipo

March 28th, 2014, 6am

Man Mo Temple honours the gods of Man (Civil God of Literacy) and Mo (Martial God). There are many Man Mo temples throughout Hong Kong but this is the temple I pass every day while going to and from work. It is nestled amongst a busy market area with people pushing their way to sell fresh fish, fruits and vegetables. This temple was built in 1893 to mark the founding of Tai Wo Shi (The town before the current city) and today offers a place of peace surrounded by noise.
