Sunrise, and one reason to stay :-)

October 15th, 2014, 7am

It was 24.4°C with few clouds. The breeze was gentle.

Colours so strong and angular they reflected off the matte surface of Ka’ahumanu Avenue down there. Hues and combinations thereof more typically seen at dusk or sunset.

Dear Sanna,

Your private response to my previous post on that red Sunday beach in Pa’ia made me say “Doh!” …because of course, it was a reason for me to continue here. :-)

So I’m sorry if it irritates you for me to post your brief reply in the open here, but I wanted to respond in turn, publicly:

“Well, Lloyd, I think that one should do what one wants… But I’ll miss you on Hi if you leave it, and I’ll miss all those interconnected posts…! I’ll miss my pen pal!”

How shortsighted of me to forget one of the amazing things I’ve found at Hi.co: the fellow strings with whom I’ve found resonance, in one fashion or another, through looking at their images and moments, considering their words, their blocks and rivers of serried texts. And luminous drawings.

So, this is also a “Dear Christine… David… Shu… Craig… Cassie… et al.” moment. I’m going nowhere. I like it here.

with aloha,
Lloyd

p.s.:
Christine—ironically, this is what I want to cross-post elsewhere. ::chuckle::

Sanna, Shu, David Wade and Christine said thanks.

I lived in a village and homestead set aside for people of Hawaiian ancestry. I am not Hawaiian but had been adopted into the culture—to my profound gratitude.
