You could be forgiven for thinking it’s Vancouver or Victoria, B.C. These endless grey days of “mist” and “fog”, interspersed with downpours, are certainly alien to my years of living in Toronto.
And yet. And yet…
They say Canada is warming at twice the global rate.
The sun has been down for hours, and it’s still +11C outside. Sure, the jetstream hasn’t migrated south yet, that’s true, but think of this year as a whole: the seasons felt shifted. We flip-flopped between high-highs and low-lows. Dressing for the weather was absurdly, unseasonally, difficult.
And here we are: mid-December, double-digit highs, and rain. The climate is changing.
