The duo Ylvis have a video about going to spend a weekend in a cabin owned by your family. This was a new concept to me when I moved to Minnesota but apparently an old Scandinavian tradition. The video hits precisely on all the things that make this tradition quite funny and also quite delightful. I do not own a cabin but some of my friends do and we have had plenty of fun at them. It seems all the regions of the states have some sort of long standing vacation tradition, like cabins or going to Hilton Head Island or to the Hamptons. How funny that we want to vacation from our neighbors only to vacation with different ones.
