Everything entwined

March 20th, 2016, 7pm

There is this epiphany that just keeps coming back to me and it makes me smile every single time it rises over the waves of my thoughts. English has been my second language, but over the years it has been as if my own. I have loved it and adored it, admired it for my musings, taken a refuge in it for my lonely thoughts, and as much as I appreciate it, I am in awe of how much solace this language has been to me. But then again, all languages come down to one simple idea- connecting. And for the heart that resides more in the beats and the silences than in spoken words, perhaps there is nothing better to connect to everything around us than the sound of music. The very fact that it can so gracefully adopt cultures without as much as touching upon a single spoken word is enthralling. Listening to a song once taught to me a long time ago, once again brought that magnificent epiphany back to life, that indeed, no matter what language you speak, music will find a way to connect to the very essence that is YOU. Its a beautiful solace indeed.
