On Saturday we had the privilege of attending the wedding of some friends of ours, and what a joyful day it was!

I don’t think I’ve ever been to a wedding where sunflowers were the key theme in all the displays, but it worked beautifully, especially against the blue of the bridesmaids dresses, and added to the joy of the occasion I think.

We’ve known the groom since he was just a few years old and how delightful it was to be able to share in this significant ‘life moment’ as he made promises before God and man to be committed in love to his wife for life. Both are committed Christians, so there was nothing fake or hypocritical about their promises, and we pray that the Lord will bless them with a happy marriage as they embark on the adventure of a lifetime!

At the reception there was a very good band - probably the best I’ve ever heard at a wedding - so I’ll try to post a picture or two from that in a separate moment later.
