Oh How I Miss The Ocean

April 26th, 2014, 7pm

I miss the sea like wild horses miss the fields that used to be. I remember the way I felt standing on the patio at the Breakers Hotel. It was freedom, and belief. Belief in myself, and everything I dared to dream I might someday do. It’s a powerful thing, the ocean. It can knock you on your ass, or it can sooth your heartbreak. I was named after the sea. Jess-sea. My eyes match it color for color. I was so busy being caught up in the corporate life and learning all about the career I someday hope to have, I never got the chance to appreciate the beauty of the ocean. It woke me every morning. It lulled me to sleep every night. But it was only mine for a week. And I couldn’t stop to love it properly. And now I miss it every day.

I'm not sure what I am right now, but I want to be an entrepreneur or something equally dazzling and innovative.
