Water lilies at the end of summer

August 31st, 2015, 1pm

It was 26.1°C. There was moderate breeze.

The uppermost section of Holden Reservoir is cut off by a road, leading to still water and, by the end of summer, quite a collection of water lilies and lily pads. I cycle past this pool once or twice a week in all seasons, stealing a quick glance off the roadway at the progression of the water from frozen to open to now, filled with growth. The presence of lilies in bloom was more than enough justification to stop for a few minutes to snap a photo before continuing on my way.
