Singular in Plural

May 14th, 2012, 11am

Indians are singular in plural. Everything that the Indian government does is for singular but on the surface it looks it is being done for plural. Singular rules the plural by a large majority. In the same manner, our plurals have never learnt to ask for their rights. On the other hand singulars have their own lobbies. We do not have the guts or knowledge to use the two adverbs. First Interrogative -why, where, how, when and then Relative adverbs - which, what, whose. Linguists have pointed to us different variety of grammar – which analyses the functions of our language. We can compare this with our leaders and population. Smart leaders can mesmerize the population with Mental Grammar – described as the generative grammar stored in the brain that allows a speaker to produce language that other speakers can understand. But these are originally Pedagogical Grammar which is a slippery concept. What we need is Performance Grammar.
