My sister calls it a quarry. She is wrong. It is just a hill somewhere between the cities of Chennai and Bangalore. Every person who takes the daily Shatabdi Express between the two cities will see this hill. My header picture doesn’t do much justice. You can see just the foot of the hill.

It’s a lonely place. I’ve passed by this hill several times over the last decade but I’ve never seen a single person, not even near the tracks. I did see a loose cow once but that was many years ago. There are nothing but rocks (which makes it perfect for outdoor activities!). I do know that someone graffitied a cross on one of the larger rocks.

I’ve always wanted to climb it (which is hilarious because I’m not a sporty person at all). There’s nothing like seeing a lonely, rocky hill in the middle of nowhere.¹
