“The window shop displaying dead rats actually exists. It is the window of Destruction des Animaux Nuisibles, an exterminator established since 1872, located 8 rue des Halles in the first arrondissement. ”

I’ve only seen the Disney film “Ratatouille” once, on an airplane, but I remember the cameo of this cartoon exterminator.
At some point during my second week in Paris, walking about lost between a pair of headphones spouting yesterday’s news, I looked up to my right and was shocked to see dozens of hanging, dead rats.
“It’s REAL!” I gasped.
An old lady and her husband, leaning against a nearby door frame, tittered madly at me.
I’m sure they see this kind of thing every single day.
I lost him; but I found myself.
