Anyone who follows my sketches is going to have to get used to garden and nature talk for at least a month or two. It’s spring on our side of the planet!!! This specimen of the Bald Island Marlock, growing at the foot of the garden, has brilliant yellow flowers about ten metres off the ground. Eucalypts are, after all the world’s tallest flowering plant, some reaching right up to 300 metres, just a tad shorter than California Redwoods which of course don’t bloom. The flowers are great for flower arrangements, but, sigh, they usually defeat my climbing abilities.
