Post-historic semi-mansion with globular lamps.

February 18th, 2014, 4pm

Venezia Park is a historic district, planned by John Nolen in the ’20s. The project collapsed at the end of the decade, along with the rest of the Florida real estate boom.

This house is within the district. With its stained exterior walls, scrawny, unkempt lawn, and odd fruitlike lamps, it seems to embody something overripe that, at the same time, could not rot.
