1; I'm downloading my memories (photos/words) while I sit here in in my hotel. The flight here was absolutely taxing...

September 19th, 2015, 1am

3 x 7-8 hr flights and 1-2 hour layovers in-between and 1 baby jump to get to my first destination. Melbourne > Brunei > Dubai > London > Munich. Such a deathly flight. We landed in Munich at noon (friday 18th) where we got a taxi directly to our hotel. It was nice to be able to offload our 18kg backpacks and just have a nice shower to refresh.

Thoughts so far of Munich: It’s beautiful here. cobbled roads and old flat buildings - nothing like that in Victoria. Buildings here are no higher than 4-6 stories and there’s trams everywhere. Like, everywhere. What took me by surprise was the number of kebab shops and middle eastern people here. You can see a few beggars on the streets (my mind jumps immediately to Syria refugees) as people walk by oblivious. Jason and I walked for 2 hours today around the outskirts of the heart of the CBD. it was nice to see so much old architecture. We got back to our hotel at 6.30pm and took a nap while waiting for Lien to come back from her shopping spree. She didn’t come back till 7.40pm and instead of going out for dinner we decided to call it a night. The flight and the long walk taxed my body. Tomorrow (well today…) I head to Oktoberfest. My first stop will be Bayer Hotel where I’ll meet with Sandy and Georgia - David’s and Cecelia’s friends. Interesting day a head…
