I almost never hear music issuing from the flats around me, below me or above me. But today out of nowhere from the building in the adjacent block I heard “La Traviata.” Someone was actually listening to “La Traviata” - and not just to the famous “Libiamo ne’ lieti calici” aria, but to the whole darn thing! I was almost moved to tears for I felt less alone in this urban jungle; if only for the duration of an opera. Some fellow alien was living there nearby, hiding among the ordinary people and had decided to make himself heard for a change. That’s daring, let me tell you. It’s not the most normal thing having classical music blasting from your stereo, especially in a country like Greece where the popular music is the so called ‘skyladika’ (dog music).
Hats off, fellow alien, whoever you are! You’ve brightened up my morning! #100happydays - Day #12
