Art of Inheritance

July 21st, 2014, 1pm

A doctors son becomes a doctor while an engineer’s son an Engineer. What should a politician’s siblings do? This is the most haunted question in most countries, especially in democracies like India. Beauty of a demoracy is that anyone with any background without any pedigree can reach any post. The current PM of India is an example. Critics may disagree the method through which he attained this but here the issue is dyansty.

In a Times of India article Kanchan Gupta, Professor of politics at New York University argues against the first sentence I used here and I agree with it completely. You need to have certain qualification to be eligible for some job. But in case of politicians, this art has come naturally to them.

But isnt the voters guilty of this mushrooming dynasty business?
