Most photos posted online are the equivalent of people delivering one-liners. Few people are telling stories anymore.

October 27th, 2013, 5pm

I heard that on the Lenswork Podcast recently, and it rang very, very true.

It pisses me off that I’ve been doing that too. Sure, I’ve been posting photos more as sets and stories, but I still post the one-0ff here and there.

It’s weakening my art. It’s not helping to hone my storytelling ability, which has been suffering of late. It doing zilch in any effort to create a cohesive body of work on any one subject.

I’ll have to step back and reassess.
