When a Peacock (a male Peafowl) displays like this, then frankly, every side is his best side!
During my visit to Leeds Castle on Friday (see also the castle and the robin), this peacock obligingly opened up its magnificent tail covert feathers, allowing me to take several photographs. He was clearly used to the attention, very proud, no doubt, that none of those who were looking on in amazement and wonder could compete in any way with his vibrant beauty.
Photographs can’t really capture iridescence, but this will have to do!
“Here’s looking at you, kid!”
One year on...
Out of the shadows
Making waves
A castle, a moat, a black swan, geese, spring flowers and sunshine. Not a bad combination!
Learning lessons from the beauty of crocuses
An Englishman's home is his castle
Still singing almost 6 months later...
