This is a story about the flexibility of living in the same house for over 20 years.

March 28th, 2014, 11am

We had a busy week this week. And last week to be honest. We have begun our great experiment with the Airbnb and have had two guests so far with a third showing up today. So far so good. Oded, a young smart guy from Israel came to participate in a competition and we really connected with him learning about his disruptive idea about insurance. Then we had Danny, a university prof who is a friend and stays for free. Next up four young ladies here for kiwanis and then a last minute booking by Susan and a friend.

I have to admit I find it all amazing and my mind is ticking away with the possibilities. I have begun the market analysis - looking at the prices that local B&B’s charge, their availability, how much they make on average. Then there is the housing market. Then the concept of Airbnb itself. I was reading about Chip Conley and his boutique hotel business. I want to read his book Peak, now.

And so it goes. The story of a house and all the wealth it has brought into our lives.
