Religious Sanity

December 20th, 2004, 5pm

Spirituality cuts across religions and so are fanatical elements. But when the former gets assimilated into local culture it becomes service. During my 20 year old journey criss crossing Gujarat reporting on socio economic issues, I found remote villages in Gujarat non-discriminatory than urban areas. In many areas even Christian priests looks like Hindu Sanyasis. This is the beauty of a secular nation. The question is are we missing the opportunity to harness this?
