There is always a fine line between joyful, spontaneous interaction with our environment and just straight normalcy.

Normalcy is good. It is order and predictability. It is a faithfulness, the world being today what it was yesterday.

But then there is a special joy of putting on your mud boots because your regular shoes have gotten too small. And a feather-light hat that adds more than 12 inches to your height, well that is cause for celebration to be sure.
