Staffs Air Museum

November 15th, 2014, 11am

It was 8°C with broken clouds. The wind was light.

The Sealed Knit (legendary textile re-enactors) bought this site from Stafford Council in the 1970s but abandoned it when they failed to generate sufficient local enthusiasm for their planned textile tower (known locally as High Fibre). Local Air Enthusiasts moved in instead and set up these rugged Air Mills - reclaimed years earlier from the Back Dykes. They don’t work now, of course, being off the main Air Routes, but during the Annual Staffs Wind Week turbines are set up and the Mills turn again.

Shu, Adrian, James and David Wade said thanks.
