That night was the 204th birthday of Bandung city. It was held at Dago street. I think the picture said much more than ‘it was so crowded’.
Beside the stage at front, government also provided space along the street for merchants to make them well-organized. Yes, the street was blocked since 2 PM until midnight for the ‘citizen party’. I said so because the merchant had a chance to sell their products through celebration. At the same time, other citizen were able to watch the performance on stage, taking culinary of local food on street, or just enjoying the night among beloved one.
Beside Dago, there was also celebration at downtown. After isya’ (around 7 PM) there was istighotsah (praying together). Afterwards, towards midnight (around 11 PM), stunning fireworks were shot beautifully on the dark sky.
Bandung is a great developing city. I enjoyed the street at noon. Many pedestrians and trees you can use to hide from the sun. And also many sight objects to be captured on your camera. Such as Gedung Sate, Gedung Merdeka, Museum Konferensi Asia Afrika, Floating Market, De’Ranch, Taman Hutan Raya Juanda, Gunung Tangkuban Perahu, Kawah Putih, rafting at Pangalengan, and many others.
And also Bandung under Pak Ridwan Kamil, creates many mini parks with unique concept on each places. There are Taman Film, Taman Musik Centrum, Taman Pasupati (Jomblo), Taman Bunga Puspa Kandaga, Taman Lalu Lintas, and many else.
Oh one more thing, Bandung also recognized having the good fabric. You could purchase the good quality fabric in Bandung. Fore more references, you could visit Jalan Riau and Jalan Dago.
If you want to visit Indonesia, I strongly suggest you to visit Bandung.
