Every Thursday there’s a market in Hesdin and over the past few years when we’ve been staying in this part of France we’ve visited the market to see what’s what (and usually to buy some food!).
This year I was surprised to see that the proportion of stalls selling food and flowers seemed smaller, with stalls selling clothes, shoes, bags, belts and other fashion-related items taking over somewhat. It was particularly surprising because the clothes didn’t exactly represent cutting edge fashion. Actually, thinking about it, perhaps it’s me that’s out of touch!
Regardless, I hope that the next time I pay this market a visit, the proportion will have changed and we can focus on the food instead!
Here are some sights from the market.
