Travel around Gujarat and you will spot a palace every 50 kilometers. While most of these palaces of erstwhile rulers are in ruins, there are still some which is standing tall. The current generation of these princely states have either made them into hotels or movie shooting places. What is worth noting is unlike the neighbouring Rajasthan where most palaces are seven star luxury hotels, Gujarat has not been able to attract the hospitality industry to renovate these palaces. Additionally the egos of the current owners of these palaces are so inflated that they dont even allow tourists to get inside.
