The portraits at Gran's

It was 19°C with few clouds. The breeze was light.

This photo of my dad and I in the early 80’s is one of the many photos that decorate the walls at my grandmother’s. I love the sunlight-burnt cheap wooden frame, the crop, the big moustache. I love seeing pictures of my dad and I.

On the other hand, they are a bitter reminder that, to this day, I have never seen a picture of my entire family together in 1 picture. We have pictures of my brother, sister and I, or of my parents together, but none of the 5 of us together. My parents separated shortly after this picture was taken, my sister was 1. The search is on.
