Who and why? Hare Krishna invasion.

April 3rd, 2014, 11am

It was 15°C with nil significant cloud. The breeze was gentle.

As some of you (that have read other posts) may know, I have a 4 legged companion, with whom I do daily walks. Recently there has been a strange phenomenon in our ‘walking-routes’, where in strange places you find HARE KRISHNA HARE RAMA written, with chalk. Pink or orange chalk.

First I thought it was something to do with the art school close-by, but we have been founding them everywhere… So these are my questions:

Who are there people? Or person? The Hare Krishna movement is a Hindu religious organization, and if I can believe what wikipedia says, they are pretty harmonious peaceful group. So I doubt that this might be their way to propagate spiritual knowledge or consciousness of Krishna… but who knows, maybe it’s a radical group within?

It can also be young people trying a new way of graffiti (although for me it would entail a bit more effort on the design side) or maybe they thought they were cool words and went for it?

Anyway, this puzzles me, and I will maybe post other pictures in the continuation of my search for answers.

Adrian, David Wade and Samuel said thanks.
