Fall begins.

October 5th, 2013, 9am

It was 7.8°C. The wind was light.

There are moments that make you appreciate your city.

Spending 10 days in California meant I missed one of Portland’s most torrential downpours in years. Phew. I arrived back to a city on the cusp of fall. Trees had that orange tint around their edges that happens just before all hell breaks loose and you get that one week known as fall color.

This season is my favorite here. We’re either just past or just ahead of a rainstorm. The air is crisp and clean. 50 degrees and rain will do that.

Cassie, Mark, Peter and David Wade said thanks.
