Learning to let go

July 23rd, 2014, 1pm

On the way back from the Immigration Office to the city I stopped to draw Tokyo Bay. The sketch was almost complete when a gust of wind blew the loose page from my hand. I watched helplessly as it slowly spiraled into the water below.

Moments like these are to test your resolve!

Without thinking about it I immediately started drawing the scene again - this time I didn’t detach the page until I was home and inside.
