Looking back on some sketches from the beginning of the year.

July 17th, 2013, 7pm

It was 23°C. The wind was calm.

I usually carry some kind of book around to draw and write in. It helps me make connections between thoughts I’m having, but it also gets me truly interested in the world around me. These two pages are sketches of tree bark patterns and English Bay, a beach in Vancouver. While both are pretty common sights here, I like to take a moment and draw how I see them. In doing so, I feel it somehow gets me to appreciate them in my own way.

I love experiencing the ebb and flow of cities, drinking good coffee, and making great things with inspiring people. You can often find me writing, snapping photos around the city, drawing, or getting lost in a good book.
