All this, cappuccino and lemon curd tart as well!

Eating outdoors is popular almost wherever you go in the world. Sadly in most places, this means execrable sidewalk cafes with their cars, fumes and noise. I suppose many cities boast a few relatively quiet outdoor hideaways where you can grab a cuppa in the sun, like Melbourne’s very agreeable laneways, but only in the country can one simulate a Jane Austen-like picnic in utterly delightsome rurality. These days in some small towns, one can find the finest urban coffee blends to accompany the restful bucolic surrounds. This pic is taken from the deck of a fine restaurant in Olinda a little town in the Dandenongs on the outskirts of Melbourne.
