Sun is rare in Washington. Years ago, I moved from Southern California to Washington, tearing up while leaving my friends. It was weird driving through the sun, driving past the border, and suddenly being surrounded by clouds and light snow.
Soon I got used to the weather in Washington, and went to California to see my family. Imagine how much comfort I had had in California after living there for 7 years.
Before, I had been so used to the burning hot sun. Then when I visited, I had been used to Washington weather, rain, winter snow, and clouds. I could no longer handle the weather in California, my family was so used to it, while I was complaining about how hot it was.
Every time I return to California, I am alarmed by the scorching hot weather.
But now that I’m back in Washington and it’s summer, here I am again complaining about the heat. It’s amazing how different two states can be.
