Spring (summer) Cleaning.

April 21st, 2014, 2pm

Now that college is done, I’ve decided to do a bit of cleaning, starting with my desk. My desk is a less of one and more of a hoarding space filled with books, stationery and all sorts of other junk. Here’s what I found:

  1. A floppy disk.1

  2. A box of CDs with anime burnt for me by my sister over 10 years ago. In case you were wondering which anime, it’s mostly Bleach with some Fruits Basket and Ultra Maniac thrown in.

  3. A notebook used by a friend of mine for Statistics class in my first year of college.

  4. A goodbye journal belonging to a school friend that I was supposed to return nearly 4 years ago.

  5. Various Economics textbooks that I have no use for.

  6. Old French textbooks from grades 6-10. 2

  7. Outdated communist propaganda. 3

  8. Piano books that I used as a child. 4

  9. A boarding pass stub of a Singapore Airlines flight I took to Hong Kong in 2011.

  10. A file consisting of material I used for a mock United Nations in the 12th grade.

  11. Hospital records of that time I fractured my foot in the 11th grade.

  12. An old laptop sleeve.

  13. A t-shirt!

  14. Unwanted stuff like test prep material, used notebooks (always filled with doodles of my name and my cartoon Eco-Guy) and accounting ledgers.

  15. Two cassettes: “All Rise” by the British boy band Blue and “Millennium” by Backstreet Boys.5

  16. One CD: “The Best of 60s”. It belonged to my father and was the soundtrack to my pre-teen years. I could never stop listening to “Baby Love”.

  1. I don’t know who it belongs to or how it got there.

  2. In case I need to brush up on my French. One of the books had a lesson on Vanessa Paradis (Johnny’s Depp’s ex) and it was super helpful in inexplicable ways.

  3. See the sketch I posted before this. You can read about the imperialists.

  4. Backup career plan suggested by my mother: Teach piano to little kids.

  5. I was obviously a very hip kid.

Shu said thanks.
