Following eight operations in just two years—including eye surgery, a full knee replacement, and a successful fight against cancer—I’ve been taking it easy at a campsite at New Norfolk, on the banks of the Derwent River in Tasmania, Australia.
The constantly changing show put on by Mother Nature is keeping me sane and rested. I’m rewarded each day with a kaleidoscope of weather events—heavy frosts, languid fogs, some sun, and spectacular cloud formations, wind, gales, rain, and snow on surrounding peaks.
All in a day’s work when you’re situated on an island blocking the Roaring Forties.
