Winter's Ebb

March 18th, 2014, 10am

It was 0.6°C with scattered clouds. The breeze was gentle.

Frigid gusts whistle in a frantic search for an inlet to the skin. It’s found my cuffs and rushes the narrows of my sleeves, chilling the core as it pours into the empty spaces between flesh and clothing.

This wintered wind carries more than shivered gasps though. Closing my eyes and breathing in deeply, a hint - maybe even a little more - of salted air brings feelings of the summer flooding in.

It shouldn’t be long now…

Adrian, David Wade and Lily said thanks.
