My moments in Tirupati – Lord of Sapthagiri.

November 3rd, 2014, 10am

It was 26°C with scattered clouds. The breeze was gentle.

I was very excited when I informed my family that we will be going to visit Tirupati , the heavenly abode of Lord on this earth. Lord Venkateswara/ Balaji/Srinivasa/Bhakta Vatsala/ Vaikunta Nivasi as He is fondly called by devotees ,is one of incarnation of Lord Vishnu who left his heavenly abode- Vaikunta and settled in this Sapthagiri till the end of this Kali Yuga for the sake of the devotees to bless them and for the up-liftment of mankind. As the story goes, Lord was abandoned by Mahalaxmi his dear consort after Bhruga Rishi insulted and left to earth to settle down and Lord followed her. He prayed to Bhu Varaha Swamy for the piece of land and got Sapthagiri ( 7 hills) to stay till the end of Kali yuga. The story had always fascinated me and my eagerness to have the darshan of Lord. At last the day came and left Bangalore to Tirupati, reached lower hill. Finished our morning routine and started to climb the hill. Before we started , everybody prayed and asked Lord that we should get satisfied darshan. Waited in que and parked in holding cage for 14hrs, my eagerness had reached ultimatum. We could hear the chants of Lord -Govinda , Govinda Govinda and the whole cage had entirely different atmosphere. At last with desperation only the option to pray again and again for the darshan, my eyes closed for a nap and my conscious bent on kness and begged Lord for the merci. Holding the tears back still in my heart that Lord will not let us down. Seemed at last He heard and saw the TTD officials unlocking the cage. Thanking God and collecting the zeal we moved near to the cage door. Just like storm gushing out and occupying the space wherever, the devotees gushed out of cage and ran for another 2 kms to reach the outer ring of que. Everywhere chant of Lord and the zeal kept my spirits up, many times pushing and pulling at last reached garbhagudi, the inner scantum of Temple, where Lord was in His full attire waiting to see and bless His devotees who have waited in patience for almost 14- 15 hrs completely exhausted only to have a glimpse of Lord. I could feel the positivity flow and the entire atmosphere different. My turn came. I saw Him from foot to top and focused on His face. I could feel the static in me, folding hands with complete surrendering to Lord had no voice to ask or complain. I felt we had no barriers between us. Lost everything and an immense joy and happiness rode over me. I left that Lord had hemmed in Him. Suddenly I could feel the pull of my shoulder to realize that I should be back in earth. It was the TTD official. I thanked her for letting to enjoy the delight for almost 2 mins. When I emerged out of temple the clear blue sky was a welcome sight. My family embraced me. Could not control the joy of tears flowing had no justifications . It was 10pm and time to say gud bye and placed a request to Lord for a quick again call to visit Him. For me the trip to Tirupati was like a blessed call from Lord. Thanking Him for the best cherished moments of 2 mins with Him the best part of my life and in my memory for longtime.
