Can you measure happiness?

November 8th, 2015, 12pm

Can you measure happiness? This Sunday I was in a remote village called Amji in Songadh in South Gujarat. This couple wanted to bless their newly bought motor cycle. The entire village joined to celebrate the joy. I could see no jealousy in any one’s eye. All were happy at the achievement of this couple. Now imagine this around us. Most of us will ridicule for buying a sub standard product or show off getting an expensive one. You do not get a mobile connectivity here yet everyone is connected. The beauty of a small village lies in their unity and brotherhood irrespective of their faith – but only in tribal dominated place. Elsewhere, caste plays a major factor and celebrations of higher caste cannot be the celebration of lower ones and vice versa.
