British Railings is the UK’s leading facilities testing facility. Their unique flying saucer-like HQ is known to locals as ‘the Quantified Shelf’. All the railings, shelves, boards, planks, frames, fences, gates, grills, surfaces and floors in the country are prodded, tested, measured and quantified here. Notice, as you drive by, the cables that keep the BR base suspended - they’re not actually cables but are, in fact, finely tuned streams of specially thickened air.
