Bulk. Gaining. Industries.
Leaning back into a blue chair in my Human Geography class, I discovered three life changing words. I can sum up those three words.
Are people greater than the sum of their parts?
I started seeing people differently for the first time in my adolescent life as I mercilessly tried to piece them together. It’s almost like a song. There’s always a certain verse, chorus, or bridge that you like more than the other parts. You just have to decide if the song is still beautiful without it.
Doodling a mindless picture in my tattered notebook, I stared at one guy in particular. Wearing a lacrosse hoodie with his head about to fall over on his desk, I knew he was bored out of his mind. Interestingly enough, I also knew he’s known for his precious hair. He was also my one and only crush.
For the rest of the day, I trudged along side him from class to class even though most of my classes were no where near his. Through the shrieks and the screams, I heard parts of his conversations with some fellow lacrosse players. Guess what?
All he ever talked about was hooking up, money, and cars.
And that’s the day I found out my crush was not greater than the sum of his parts.
