Beam in Thine Own Eye

June 29th, 1959, 1pm

Photograph: Paolo Mussat Sartor. Poem below is my response to a traveling (one might also say ‘moving’) exhibition: A Beam in Thine Own Eye seen at Museum of Old and New Art, Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.

In 50 year old dreams I remember your eyes: grey as St. Vitus.

One dark touch almost enough: eyes of rough grey stone.

We walked from Prague Castle down to the river Vltava, flowing dark.

Afterwards, you spoke of increased production: eyes of steel.

But I remember your eyes: grey as Vltava.

Lloyd and Adrian said thanks.
