Notes on Living Outside Cultural Norms.   Not so bad after all.

March 5th, 2014, 7am

If the day and the night make one joyful, one is successful. 1

In search of a potential camping spot on the tranquil north shores of Lake Biwa; clearly marked on google—lead me astray—maps, yet nowhere to be found in reality. Eventually settling for a small parking space a few kilometres back, weary and defeated. After the calming act of cooking a simple dinner, it was soon time for bed; drifting off while listening to waves on the nearby shore.

—Not so bad after all—

Awaking early to a cold wet morning, misty lake views dispersing any frustration of the previous night. Driving slowly, stopping frequently to take photos and stock of thoughts; finally discovering several potential camp locations. Pausing in one to enjoy a morning coffee, surveying distant snow-topped mountains beyond the lake.
