Glad I turned around to look behind me.

December 18th, 2013, 8am

I drive down Polk Street every morning, through a portion of the Tenderloin, north of Market Street. Despite the area’s blight and poverty, and the concentration of San Franciscans with substance abuse or mental illness, there are some vibrant spots of beauty and splashes of color. There are paintings and murals. On this clear, Winter morning, the corner of Polk and Olive was quiet. From my commute, this mural is not usually visible to me, but I was stopped at a red light and turned around to find this mural by artist Mike Shine.

David Wade and Adrian said thanks.
