My wife is the one in our family who remembers places, not me. Place names, that is. I can remember views, even bends in roads. But place names? No, I’m hopeless!
But just occasionally I do remember where we’ve been. And this holiday was one such place. We stayed for a week one Easter in a house in Tollent, right on the border of the Pas-de-Calais and the Somme Départements. One week, graced with summertime weather (we had to go and buy sun cream!), in the most beautiful and quiet countryside. What a blessing that was.
Perhaps one day we’ll be able to return. But until then, I love to look at the photographs and think back. I would probably have to say it was an almost perfect holiday.
Magnifique!
